I had been trying to find what is the PS3 "handshake" is all about. This Handshake use EDID (Extended Display Identification Data). Now, I have the correct terminology. I'm been thinking of how to get around it or play trick to PS3 Handshake. I was thinking about the idea with EDID Emulator for those who don't have the 3DTV. I'm taking a break. I hope someone pickup from where I left off.
I forgot to mention that when you have a native 3D with Edison 3D, you can not change the 3D mode or any of the 3D settings through OSD Menu. Your only option is using the Edison 3D remote. And if you need/want to change convergence to middle or change the scene mode, you would have to exit through the movie and/or game and be on your blu-ray player and/or gaming console interface/menu then you would be able to access the 3D osd settings.
So...basically, you are locked out of 3D OSD settings if you are playing a native 3D movie, game, etc.
Edison 3D is not locking you out. Edison 3D is just Pass-thru the video signal to the TV. Edison not touching the native 3D movie signal. The only thing Edison is doing to keep your glasses in sync with the native 3D movie. Edison 3D engineer should use the correct terminology for 2D changes to Pass-thru or By-pass.
But I'm not able to access the 3D OSD settings when playing native 3D content. So, I'm locked out of those settings. No? (Unless I exit out of movie or game then I can change 3D mode to 2D-3D, select scene, convergence etc...otherwise I'm stuck with doing just the adjustments I can with remote.)
Somebody try the edison on a 4ktv? I know the resolution will be in 1080p, but the tv upscale the video to near 4k, my plan is use it in a Epson projector and a 4ktv.
It should work. HDMI 2.0 is backward compatible with an older version of HDMI. I am going to guess the outcome when 4K TV try to upscale the video to near 4k will ruin the 3D effects because it going to try to create extra pixels that should not be there or created ghosting effects. We have not heard any reports on that finding.
i am currently using a infocus screen play 777 a 3 chip DLP it does not have HDMI inputs it has a digital and a rgb input. i am using the RGB .i did need to use the FHD as i was getting a glitch on screen right when watching a commercial blue ray 3D but not the 2d.but that fixed it.and works flawlessly. the 2D to 3D also works well.
