Here's a list of how to setup 3D videos/guides on specific platforms. If you guys can find some good guides, feel free to post them. I'll add them to the list.
1. Check out the Installation Guide and Help/FAQs pages for more help if you get stuck here.
2. **Please read all before you begin** Follow one of the guides below these steps (outside of this enitre box) for the specific platform you want to set 3D on (examples; PS4 and Xbox One.) Then calibrate while playing a 3D movie or 3D game once you setup 3D for that platform. Adjust 3D Depth by pressing (Left 3D Depth Button) and (Right 3D Depth Button.) The (Left 3D Depth Button) when first pressed changes to the inward convergence but say if you were in the outward convergence and you used the left arrow, you would just be cycling through the 3 settings of weak/medium/strong. The right arrow when pressed for the first time changes to the outward convergence but if you were in the inward convergence you would just be cycling through weak/medium/strong. Both buttons when pressed while in the outward or inward setting just cycle through the 3 settings of weak/medium/strong while on that convergence mode. Also, press the (glasses button) to adjust glasses. This basically helps eliminate ghosting issues. If you have a PC with HDMI input/Nvidia card that supports 3D I would recommend trying to calibrate through their calibration. (For Nvidia Calibration follow the PC Guide below.) If you set up glasses through 2D-3D, those settings won't apply here and you'll likely see LV: 1 and SL: 1. So, yes you have to start glasses calibration over for every mode (native 3D, 2D-3D, 3D (SBS), and/or 3D (T/B) as well as every scene (Text, Picture, Movie and/or Game.)
3. With Native 3D, you are stuck with calibrating through remote while watching a native 3D movie or playing a native 3D game. If you go to OSD>3D, you simply cannot adjust any of those until you get out of native 3D mode which is done by turning off 3D mode in the game menu or exiting out of the movie/game completely. If you want Middle convergence and/or want to change the scene from movie to game, you would need to do what was just mentioned. Once done that, you simply go to OSD>3D and change 2D to 2D-3D and change convergence to Middle and scene to Game (as an example.)
4. You'll know if you are on native 3D mode just by going to OSD>3D and seeing if it's on 2D (YES 2D!) mode and if the menu is blurry. (Of course you can see the menu is blurry before going to OSD>3D but we want to know if it's actually on 2D when it's blurry which would mean it's native 3D.) Edison 3D doesn't tell you in text that you are in native 3D mode. You just find out by seeing if the menu is blurry and you are on 2D mode by going to OSD>3D. So, unlike all other formats (2D, 2D-3D, 3D (SBS), and 3D (T/B) you won't see a name for native 3D within Edison 3D menus. You just simply find out if the menu is blurry and you are in 2D (YES 2D!) mode. There is no "3D,""Native 3D,""3D-bypass," "Frame Packing" or anything else like that mentioned in the menus. You just simply find out when Edison 3D is in native 3D mode by doing what was just mentioned.
**Just letting you all know, the images of the platforms and orange text have clickable links which takes you to the video links of setting up 3D on the platform.**

Edison 3D - Setting Up 3D on Specific Platforms
**Just letting you all know, the images of the platforms and orange text have clickable links which takes you to the video links of setting up 3D on the platform.**
PC (Computer) | 1. Go to desktop and right click. Select Nvidia Control Panel. 2. When Nvidia Control Panel opens, go to Stereoscopic 3D and click on where it says "Set up stereoscopic 3D." 3. Click on where it says "Run setup Wizard." 4. When the setup wizard opens, see if it says "HDMI 3D TV" next to an image of a TV. If it does you are using a 3DTV. Just click next. 5. A second page pops up telling you to turn on glasses. Turn your glasses on and hit next. 6. The next page brings you to hardware setup where you test your glasses. There is a large image that is a combination of triangle and hexagon shapes. - Close your right eye with your glasses and look at the image. What shape do you see? Select one of the 3 shapes for the first step. - Close your left eye with your glasses and look at the image. What shape do you see? Select one of the 3 shapes for the second step. If you select the wrong image, you fail and have to go back to that hardware setup page (page before fail page.) 7. Next page has you verifying that you are seeing 3D content. Look at the QR code with your glasses with both using and select one of the two images you are seeing. If you select the wrong image, you fail and have to go back to that stereoscopic verification page (page before fail page.) 8. Last page has a couple of check mark selections. This is all up to you. Check mark whatever nd hit finish. I recommend leaving "Set a 3D resolution when setup is finished" check marked. 9. While on the Nvidia Control Panel page, go to Display>Change Resolution. 10. Once on "Change Resolution" page, you'll see options for changing resolution. 11. Under HD 3D in Change Resolution page, select either 1080p @23hz (If 24Hz is giving you a weird flickering pixel effect. 23Hz will likely not show that effect.) or 720p (stays at 60Hz.) 12. Now go to your desktop. Right click>Display Settings 13. Click on where it says identify to identify which display with Edison 3D is 1, 2, 3 etc. My TV with Edison 3D is #2. 14. Click on the display that's connected with Edison 3D. I clicked 2nd Display. 15. Go to where it says "Advanced Display Settings." 16. Make sure "3D Display Mode" is turned to the on position. 17. You will have 1 or 2 resolutions with 3D mentioned in parenthesis. Mine was "1920x1080 (3D)" and "1280x720 (3D)." 18. Select one of the 3D resolutions and hit apply. 19. Enjoy! Play a 3D game or watch a 3D movie. |
PlayStation 3 | 1. Go to Settings. 2. Under Settings, go to Display Settings. 3. Under Display Settings, go to Video Output Settings. 4. Under Video Output Settings, select HDMI. Hit next. 5. Select "Automatic" as the setting method. (You can't use custom. It just won't detect Edison 3D or any 3DTV.) Hit next. 6. A message should come up saying "Can you read this screen?." Hit Yes. 7. This screen should tell you your TV supports the viewing of 3D content. 8. Select the inches of your TV with Edison 3D. Hit next. (I set mine to 32inches as that's the size of my TV with Edison 3D.) 9. Then you'll get a list of resolutions that your TV/PS3 can use. You should have "720p (3D)," and/or "1080p (3D)" and/or "1080i (3D)." 10. Hit X button. 11. This screen can either be your last or you have to go more. If you are not getting audio, go through the settings and do what you need to do. Hit finish once done. 12. Enjoy! Play a 3D game or watch a 3D movie. |
PlayStation 4 | 1. Go to Settings. 2. Under Settings, go to Sound and Screen. 3. Under Sound and Screen, go to Video Output Settings. 4. Under Video Output settings, you can choose Automatic or select between 720p/1080i/1080p (We don't want any of the other resolutions.) 5. Being on the same Video Output settings, there is a setting called "TV Size." This setting only appears if PS4 has detected Edison 3D/any 3DTV. Otherwise, if PS4 didn't detect Edison 3D/any 3DTV the option is no where to be seen. 6. Click on "TV Size." Select the size of your TV that's using Edison 3D. The TV I'm using with Edison 3D is 32 inches so I set mine at 32 inches. Hit enter once you set your TV size. 7. Enjoy! Play a 3D game or watch a 3D movie. |
Xbox 360 | 1. Go to Settings. 2. Under Settings, go to System. 3. Under System Settings, go to Console Settings. 4. Under Console Settings, go to Display. 5. Under Display Settings, go to HDTV settings. 6. Under HDTV settings, select one of three options 720p, 1080i, or 1080p. Hit enter. 7. We're back to Display Settings. Go to 3D TV. 8. On 3D TV, select enable and hit enter. 9. We're back to Display Settings. Go to TV Size. 10. Under TV Size, select inches or cm depending on what you are familar with. 11. Go to where it says "Enter TV Size." 12. You would be presented with an on-screen keyboard. Enter a TV size. I set mine to 32 (with inches selected previously) as that's the TV I'm using Edison 3D with. Hit enter. 13. Enjoy! Play a 3D game or 3D movie. |
Xbox One | 1. Go to Settings. If you can't find it anywhere on Home Screen or Pins, you may have to use the Xbox One side bar. - Go to the Xbox One Sidebar. This can be done by hitting left on the D-pad or using the joystick to go all the way to the left of the screen. - Go to the gear icon. Click on "All Settings." 2. Under Setttings, go to Display & Sound. 3. Under Display & Sound, go to Video Output. 4. Under Video Output, click on TV resolution. 5. Set your resolution to either 1080p or 720p (whatever your TV supports.) 6. On the same Video Output page, there is Advanced Video Settings. Click on it. 7. TV Connection. Select either HDMI or Auto-detect. 8. Under Advanced Video Settings, check mark Allow 3D/Allow 50Hz/Allow 24Hz. 9. Enjoy! Play a 3D game or 3D movie. |
